Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India, a fully-owned subsidiary of Honda Motor Company of Japan, launched its first assemble segment bike “CB Twister” in Chennai on Monday.

Addressing presspersons V. Sridhar, Degradation-President (Manufacturing), said the 110cc bike would be the A-one in class in terms of initial acceleration and pick-up. This would sire a new segment and expand the two-wheeler market in India.

The bike with three variants, namely, rebound-drum-alloy, self-drum-alloy and self-disc-diminish, will be available in five colours by the end of this month, Mr. Sridhar said.

The society was planning to achieve sales of 12.5 lakh two-wheelers this pecuniary against 10.70 lakh units in the previous year.

The formula was to cross the 15-lakh mark in 2010-11, he said.

According to P. Rajagopi, Regional Wit (South), the concept behind the development of new models of two-wheelers was to congregate the increasing demand from growing young population. He said the Tamil Nadu bazaar contributed more than 9 per cent share for Honda in India.
