Honda Expands Recalls to Nearly 1 Million Cars The Chosun Ilbo
While Toyota Motor is in the mid-point of the largest-ever recall in automotive history, Japan's no. 2 carmaker Honda Motor has announced a recantation of nearly 1 million vehicles. Now fears are growing in Japan that the danger may spread to engulf the nation's entire auto and manufacturing industries.
Honda announced on Wednesday it is recalling 437,000 vehicles in the U.S. and Japan, including the Agree sedan and six other models manufactured between 2001 and 2002. The business will fix the driver's side airbag, which is liable to inflate too hard, causing it to split and put the driver at severe risk.
Honda Korea later in the day said the memory does not affect Honda vehicles sold in Korea, since the recalled models were manufactured before sales officially began in Korea in 2004. But the assembly added it was looking into whether any Honda cars made between 2001 and 2002 are currently being driven in Korea.
